About Roetz:

Roetz is a purpose-driven company committed to contributing to the transition toward a circular and inclusive economy. From our bike factory and headquarters in Amsterdam-Noord, we produce our robust and distinctive Roetz bikes, and we remanufacture (shared) bike fleets for clients such as NS OV-Fiets, Bluebike, and the Dutch Postcode Lottery. Since the end of 2023, we’ve launched our own circularly designed e-bike: the Roetz Life; the world’s first circular e-bike! A smart, modular e-bike with an innovative service concept, setting a new standard for circularity in the bike industry.

Position

Roetz is looking for a driven and skilled Senior Technical Buyer / Production Planner to strengthen our ambitious and dynamic team. In this role, you are responsible for the procurement and production planning for our bikes and e-bikes, managing supplier relationships, and further optimizing our sourcing strategy, ERP system and planning processes.

Your responsibilities

● Translate sales forecasts into a master production plan (MPS), material requirements, and procurement planning
● Technical category management for materials and components, including sourcing and evaluating new suppliers
● Develop and improve our ERP/MRP system (Odoo) in collaboration with internal stakeholders, to better support procurement and production planning
● Maintain strong supplier relationships and explore alternatives where needed
● Achieve cost reduction and supply chain efficiency targets
● Strengthen and professionalize the purchasing and planning function within the organization
● Work closely with the operations team to identify and resolve potential bottlenecks
and assess the impact of material availability on production and sales plannin

● In the future, you may take on a leadership role for junior operational purchasing staff

Profile

We’re looking for an experienced professional with HBO+ working/thinking level and at least 5 years of experience in procurement and production planning, preferably in the bike industry or a technical production environment. 

You are:

● Experienced with ERP/MRP software – familiarity with Odoo is a strong plus
● Technically savvy and experienced with sourcing mechanical and electrical components
● Intrinsically motivated by the mission of Roetz-Bikes
● Result-driven and enjoy negotiations and optimizing supplier performance
● Analytical, well-organized, and highly skilled in Excel
● Passionate about continuous improvement and innovation
● Ideally experienced in international sourcing and supplier management
● A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
