About Roetz

The Roetz Fair Factory is a bicycle factory located in Amsterdam Noord. At Roetz, beautiful circular bicycles are made, among other things, based on discarded materials. Roetz has its own collection of bicycles, but also the OV-Fiets Recycle has been produced here for years. All this thanks to the craftsmanship of our employees. A beautiful, diverse group of people who find their work happiness in our factory (again or for the first time). In 2023, we launched the first circular e-bike (Roetz LIFE). The role

We are looking for a Computer Science student to be a part of our unique project at the interface of Internet of Things, Mobility and Circularity. You will be part of a focused, fast-paced team, helping us move from proof of concept to production. You will have a chance to experience multiple facets a software project, use state of the art technologies and tools and solve real problems in a rapid feedback cycle.

Our base stack includes:
•  Python
•  Postgresql
•  GCP (Google Cloud Platform)
•  Docker
•  git + Github

 
Task description

Your main tasks will include:

•  Developing new MVP features based on requirements and user input
•  Building and maintaining internal and external APIs
•  Debugging and improving existing features, moving from MVP to production grade code
•  Creating unit and integration tests
•  Improving and maintaining the CI/CD pipelines
•  Writing documentation

Profile

•  Undertaking a Computer Science education at WO level
•  Fluent in python
•  Passionate about tinkering, building, and getting things done
•  Proactive, flexible and hands on
•  Enjoys working in a team
•  Available for 3 months or longer
•  Front end experience is a plus
•  Familiarity with other stack components are a bonus
•  Interest in building bikes and circularity are added bonuses
