About Roetz
Roetz is a mission-driven organization that wants to make a positive contribution to the transition to a circular and inclusive economy. From our 3000m2 social factory and head office in Amsterdam-Noord, we manufacture and re-manufacture our circular and unique bicycles, including bicycle fleets large customers such as NS OV-Fiets, Bluebike and the National Postcode Lottery.

Since 2024, we have been manufacturing our own circularly designed e-bike platform Roetz Life. A smart modular e-bike with a future proof, innovative, service concept. We believe our design and manufacturing methodology will lead the way for the bike industry.

Positie

We are looking for a mechanical engineer to contribute to our unique product. You will be part of an innovative and fast-paced team, focused on product improvement, feature development and manufacturability.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Improve the e-bike design for manufacturing and take responsibility for mechanical details and quality

  • Generate production drawings for our buyers and suppliers and work with them to ensure parts are produced to a high quality

  • Cooperate closely with other members of the design team (a.o. Electronics & Embedded Engineering, Data Science) in multidisciplinary development projects

  • Work with the operations and design team to design and improve the efficiency and quality of our production process and tooling

Profile

We are looking for a proactive team member with:

  • An MSc in Mechanical Engineering or a BSc Mechanical Engineer with 3+ years of experience

  • Extensive CAD experience.experience with Solidworks and or Onshape

  • Hands on experience on prototyping and working on mechanical systems as a hobby or professionally

  • Confidence in making decisions in the mechanical domain under time pressure.

Beneficial would be:

  • Experience working in the bike, motorcycle or automotive industry

  • Experience with simulation for mechanical design optimization

  • Interest and experience in circular design
